Timothée Chalamet Surprises Fans by Crashing Look-Alike Contest in New York City
In a surprising turn of events, Timothée Chalamet made a special appearance at his own look-alike contest in New York City on Sunday, October 27, 2024. What started as a light-hearted idea quickly transformed into an exhilarating and chaotic spectacle.
Imagine a vibrant crowd filled with Timothée impersonators, each representing one of his memorable characters. From Willy Wonkas to Paul Atreides from Dune, the scene was surreal. In the midst of this unique gathering, the real Chalamet arrived, flanked by bodyguards, delighting fans by taking photos with his doppelgängers—like stepping into a living hall of mirrors!
The contest was promoted through flyers across the city and was part of a series run by YouTuber Anthony Po. With a $50 prize on the line, participants were quizzed about their hypothetical plans with Kylie Jenner (rumored to be Chalamet's girlfriend) and their proficiency in French—a nod to the actor's bilingual flair. Ultimately, it was Miles Mitchell dressed as Willy Wonka who claimed victory.
However, not everything went smoothly. The event attracted thousands of attendees, leading to some tense situations. Police intervened at Washington Square Park, dispersing crowds and issuing fines for hosting an “unpermitted costume contest.” One contestant even found themselves in handcuffs!
“What started off as a silly joke turned pandemonium,” said Paige Nguyen, Po's producer.
Meanwhile, Chalamet has been busy filming Marty Supreme in New York City. This secretive American sports drama is directed by Josh Safdie and features an impressive cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, and Fran Drescher.
