Hoda Kotb's New Journey with Her Daughters Following Her Departure from Today
Hoda Kotb is embarking on an exciting new chapter in her life as she transitions away from the NBC morning show, Today. After nearly 17 years of waking up at 3 a.m., Hoda is ready to embrace her newfound free time, especially with her daughters, Haley, 7, and Hope, 5.
"I've found out that in my town, there's a 5:30 Soul Cycle class which I'm going to start," Hoda shared during her Making Space wellness event at the Miraval Austin Resort and Spa in Texas. "Then I'm going to go back and feed my kids breakfast and make a coffee to go in my Yeti."
She added, "I'm going to walk my kids down the beautiful streets to their school and I'm going to kiss them goodbye."
The 60-year-old is also looking forward to dedicating more time to her podcast, Making Space With Hoda Kotb, while reconnecting with family and friends. "I'm going to do work in my wellness space because I've got a lot of stuff coming," she said. "I'm going to be working for a few hours. I'm going to have lunch with friends who I haven’t had a chance to eat with in forever. Real conversations."
After some light work and socializing, it will be all about family time again for Hoda. "I'm going to take them wherever they want to go," she noted regarding Haley and Hope. "I’m going to bring them home later. I’m going to fire up the BBQ. I don’t care what the temperature is; I love everything barbecued. I’m going to make burgers and salmon."
While these changes will officially begin in January when Hoda wraps up her regular shifts for the last time, she’s already mentally preparing for this new normal after two decades on morning television.
Although fans of Today will certainly miss seeing Hoda every morning, she's confident that now is the right time to prioritize family.
"I get one ride, that's it," she explained. "You only got one life, right? You're the chooser."
